Who’s Pulling The Strings with Your Online Brand?

It seems that there are articles published about Facebook and its updates weekly. There is no surprise that these updates are important and should be looked into. Being on top of your social media is highly important. Knowing what’s going on and what you can expect can save you from costly mistakes later down the road.
We have specific feelings on brands who hire agencies to run their social media and social networking. Minus the obvious, a potential lack of knowledge of the product or service, there may also be a misunderstanding of the clients goals and objectives, current direction of the brand, and overall direction associated with social media and social networking. Brands and their reputation can be bruised, or worse. We also feel that a brand knows itself better than anyone else. We don’t want to take that away from them, we want to empower them.
Because brands are many times very busy, it makes sense to bring in other administrators to a Facebook page, for example. They can help field questions and comments, monitor things like analytics and metrics, and help out when time just does not allow. But what happens if the relationship goes south? Administrators added, who are not the page owner, can hijack your page. Facebook does state that administrators can not remove the page owner. However, it does appear to be possible. Here is an article posted in August with some of Facebook’s updated privacy settings. Also, remember to change your passwords if you do hire someone and they don’t work out. Don’t let your brand fall in ruins.
Who will you trust to help run and manage your social media?
