Circuit Bending with CMKT4 and Creme DeMentia

Last week, after finishing a meeting at Cafe Diem, one of my favorite places to have a meeting, I met three very interesting guys. Austin, Jeff and Zach make up a band know as CMKT4, mixing circuit bending and acid rock to make a very unique sound. The three piece band out of DeKalb, IL features a bass player (Jeff), guitar player (Zach) and drummer (Austin). Apart from the usual interments, they also incorporate other instruments that they created themselves.

CMTK4 is only part of the identity  of this three piece. The members also create their own contact microphones under the name Creme DeMentia. They are currently traveling the United States. On their journey, they will be playing shows and doing workshops to educate people on how to create their own contact microphones and how to use them.

I encourage you to watch the video. What these guys do is better explained by them. You can see more about CMKT4 by checking out some of their videos and listening to their music. Also, if you’re outside of Iowa and Illinois, watch for their events. Want to start bending some circuits of your own? Check out the kits and parts to get started.
